The original cabin was built in Blackwater Virginia, circa 1800. It was last sold in about 1900 for $1 to a couple who promised to take care of the owners on the property until they died. They then raised 6 children in this loft cabin. We used the chestnut log smokehouse as the master bedroom for this cabin. The main cabin is made from poplar logs.

This cabin was originally built in Bulls Gap, Greene County Tennessee (then Greene County, N.C.) circa 1790. This cabin was in the Phillips family for many years and W.W. Phillips (State Assemblyman, known today as State Congressman) lived in it through the 1930’s. It is a full two story cabin built with oak logs.

This cabin was found near Blackwater, Virginia, about 5 miles from the Robinette. It was originally built on a hilltop overlooking a huge valley, circa 1790. It is made from poplar logs and originally had an upstairs and downstairs fireplace.
#4 Saylor

This cabin was found near Rogersville, TN., circa 1820.It has an old claw footed tub in the upstairs bathroom. It is made from oak logs. The last Saylor family inhabitant was an old school teacher, Professor Saylor, who was said to have sat by the fireplace in his rocking chair using an oil lamp while studying or grading papers. The original fireplace hearth is still in place and you can see a smooth spot where Professor Saylor’s shoulder would rub. It is a two story cabin, overlooking the pond.
