They then raised 6 children in this loft cabin. We used the chestnut log smokehouse as the master bedroom for this cabin. The main cabin is made from poplar logs.

This cabin was found near Rogersville, TN., circa 1820.It has an old claw footed tub in the upstairs bathroom. It is made from oak logs. The last Saylor family inhabitant was an old school teacher, Professor Saylor, who was said to have sat by the fireplace in his rocking chair using an oil lamp while studying or grading papers. The original fireplace hearth is still in place and you can see a smooth spot where Professor Saylor’s shoulder would rub. It is a two story cabin, overlooking the pond.
